Description
This article addresses upgrade failures and certificate verification issues encountered during the Spotfire for Signals update process for Signals One that include Lead Discovery Premium (LDP) packages.
The Unknown Publisher pop-up messages (such as shown below) will sometimes happen with large add-in packages like Glysade Python (~700 MB) and Glysade Python MAB (~2 GB). The likelihood of this issue increases during poor network conditions.
The publisher could not be verified. Are you sure you want to install this software?
Name: Glysade.Python.cab
Publisher: Unknown Publisher
This file does not have a valid digital signature that verifies its publisher. You should only install software from publishers you trust.
The below screenshot captures a typical pop-up message during an installation with this issue:
Solution
To resolve such upgrade issues and errors:
- Download the latest Spotfire for Signals installer.
- Extract the installation file into a standard directory, avoiding OneDrive or Users folders.
- Since a default Windows platform enforces a maximum folder/file path length of 256 characters, it is best to extract the install to a location close to the root level of your local drive.
- Install the application by running Spotfire.Dxp.exe.
- Launch the Spotfire for Signals app, specify your tenant URL, and then enter login credentials.
- Ensure stable network conditions for large package downloads, and verify the complete download of add-in packages to avoid 'Unknown Publisher' errors.
-Click Install Now to start the upgrade process.
Even if your issue seems to resolve by simply re-launching Spotfire for Signals and re-run the upgrade process, it is recommended to re-install. Rationale: The Unknown Publisher pop-up messages indicate that certain add-in packages may have not fully downloaded.
