Problem:

Oracle XML parsing error message when attempting to add a new compound in Registration


Solution:

"ORA-31011: XML parsing failed ORA-19202: Error occurred in XML processing LPX-00222: error received from SAX callback function ORA-00001: unique constraint (REGDB.UNQ_REGNUM_REG_NUMBER) violated ORA-06512: at "SYS.DBMS_XMLSTORE", line 78 ORA-06512: at "REGDB.COMPOUNDREGISTRY", line 2790 ORA-06512: at "REGDB.COMPOUNDREGISTRY", line 3755 ORA-06512: at line 1"

This error will be displayed when the 'Registry Number' generated by the application is a duplicate. This can happen when:

  1. After a migration or update the registry sequence was not correctly set
  2. The registry sequence has been altered to reuse a registry number and was not returned to the correct value
  3. The registry sequence has reached the max number of records predefined

Editing the registry sequence to the correct value should allow compound registration without error.
