Problem:
As soon as I try to access the chemoffice.asp page or any of the sample datbases, I am prompted to enter a user name and password. On some computers, my network login codes allow me access, but on others they don't. What is the problem?
Solution:
This may be a Windows NT issue or an IIS issue. Our software does not require passwords except for the Administrative section. Some things to check:
- First, check your NT security settings for the computer you are using to logon.
- Open the IIS Management console and check the security settings in the properties page of the directories you are trying to access. Uncheck the NT challenge/response option. After changing settings, start and stop the webservice. To get at the property page, right-click over the directory in IS Management console, and click Properties. In the properties dialog, click the Security tab and then click the Edit button in the anonymous access section. Make sure that the user is IUER_computername where the computer name is the name of the host computer (except for the CFServerAdmin directory which should have an administrator as the user).
- Check the IUER account has log on locally permission in the NT User Manager.
- Make sure the server is logged on with administrative privledges.
