The first step to transfer a license is to remove it from the computer that will not be used any more. With the release of version 17, Revvity Signals incorporated the option to de-activate the license from within the software.
Windows:
1. Open ChemDraw on the old computer.
2. Go to Help Activate ChemDraw.
3. The information should be filled out automatically, including the activation code. Just click the De-activate button and wait a couple of seconds for the license to be released.
Mac:
1. Open ChemDraw on the old computer.
2. Go to the ChemDraw menu and click Activate ChemDraw.
3. The information should be filled out automatically, including the activation code. Just click the De-activate button and wait a couple of seconds for the license to be released.
Once you receive the confirmation, you can proceed to install and activate the software using the same code on the new computer.
Option 2: Return the Device (which will prevent future activations on that computer in the future)
ONLY FOLLOW THIS PROCEDURE IF YOU ARE SURE THAT YOU WILL NOT INSTALL CHEMDRAW ON THE OLD COMPUTER AGAIN
1. Login to the ChemDraw Download Portal
2. Go to Devices and search for your old host ID. You can click on each host ID to confirm the email address found is your email address. Note: Multiple devices will be listed if there are other licenses in the same account, for example licenses for the same company.
3. Click the Action Menu and select Return Device.
4. Click the Confirm button to deactivate the software on the device id listed here.
Option 3: If you do not have access to your old computer and are planning to install ChemDraw on the computer in the future:
Please contact the support team while providing the host ID and e-mail address to request a license de-activation.
If you receive an error message on the new computer, click YES on the error and take a screenshot of the FNE log. Make note of the host ID number and contact support for further assistance. To view the host ID number on version 20.x or older, you need to click the More Options button on the activation screen.
Please note that we offer another product, Signals ChemDraw, which uses authentication (username and password) instead of activation. Signals ChemDraw can be tied into your corporate identity provider to make logging in fast and easy. It also provides much greater license management options. You can see how many licenses you have and how many are in use, as well as assign or unassign licenses at the click of a checkbox or via bulk methods. You can also bulk import users.
