How can I set up the Merck Index so I don't have to put in the cd-rom each time I want to use it?

To avoid having to place the Merck Index cd-rom in your cd-rom drive every time you want to use it, make a folder on your hard drive called MerckIndex. Copy all of the contents of the Merck Index cd-rom, and move them to your new MerckIndex folder. Now you'll need to update your shortcut. Delete your old MerckIndex shortcut (since it poinits to the cd-rom). Open the MerckIndex folder that is now on your hard drive and double click on "TheMerckIndex.exe" (icon looks like a cd-rom). This will open the Merck Index splash screen. At the bottom right of the splash screen is the "Create Shortcuts" button. Click on this to create a new shortcut on your desktop.
