How can I be sure that the Windows service pack \ updates does not affect the ELN installation?

We recommend using patches which are qualified and listed in Hardware / SoftwareGuide. There is no guarantee that applying unqualified patches is going to work without issues and that issues will be easily fixable, hence we do not recommend applying unqualified patches. Each ELN version is qualified for the latest patches \ updates at their time of release.
