Product: E-Notebook Enterprise
Today I tried to create a new user in our LDAP-authenticated E-Notebook installation. To my dismay, I discovered that our IS Department had assigned this new user the same login ID as a former user. Since the former contractor left about 6 years ago, his ID had apparently been scrubbed from IS’ Active Directory. Of course, our Oracle database still uses the login ID for that old user’s account in the inactive state, including a notebook and several signed/closed experiments.
Do you have any suggestions as to how I could create an account for the new user if our IS Department won’t change her login ID? Is there some bare minimum of information I could change on the old user’s account without sacrificing the integrity of our database?
It is recommended that you create a new (unique) user ID. Modifying an existing user ID could lead to undesirable effects.
