How to turn OFF the option "Rely on system fonts only; do not use document fonts"
New Page 1
PROBLEM:
When I try to "Export to PDF" or "Sign and Close" an experiment, I receive
the following message:
---------------------------
Adobe PDF
---------------------------
When you create a PostScript file you must rely on system fonts and use document
fonts.
Please go to the printer properties, "Adobe PDF Settings" page
and turn OFF the option "Rely on system fonts only; do not use document fonts."
---------------------------
OK
---------------------------
Where should I make the change to printer settings?
SOLUTION:
Go to Start -> Settings -> Printers and Faxes -> Adobe PDF -> [right click] -> Printing
Preferences, and uncheck “Rely on
system fonts only; do not use document fonts”.
If you have multiple users working from the same computer:
1. Go to Start -> Settings -> Printers and Faxes.
2. Right click on "Adobe PDF" printer for "Printer Properties".
3. Click on the "Advanced Tab", and then on the "Printing Defaults…" button.
4. Uncheck “Rely on system fonts only; do not use document fonts” box, thus
setting the system wide property to use document fonts instead of system fonts.
If you do it this way, these settings will affect all users on the current
(e.g., CITRIX) computer. If you set the "Printing Preferences", it will affect the
current user only (will be stored under HKEY_CURRENT_USER
in the Registry).
