Adobe MS Office add-ins affect E-Notebook rendering performance

Problem:

E-Notebook 9.0.127 rendering performance was extremely bad. The process of printing or exporting simple Experiments to Word 2003 took around two minutes. The rendering time for the same experiment without any Adobe software installed was only 10 seconds though.

Solution:

The "Export to Word" performance problem could be resolved by doing a "customized" installation of Adobe Acrobat (7.x):

1. When running Adobe Acrobat the Installer, select "custom installation" and de-select all Adobe MS Office add-ins.
2. After completing the Adobe Acrobat installation, make sure that the "Adobe PDF" printer works correctly by printing a test word document.
3. Also, make sure that the "Adobe PDF" printer driver is configured so the document fonts are embedded into the rendering.
