Using the ChemDraw Struct=Name feature in E-Notebook
Problem:
E-Notebook 9 can use the "Struct=Name" feature that was available in E-Notebook8 already. But to use this feature, E-Notebook has two requirements:
- You have to install ChemDraw ULTRA on the client PC, because ChemDraw PRO does not contain the Struct=Name feature
- Import a special configuration file from the "Struct=Name" subfolder on your E-Notebook server installation.
The 2nd requirement is a new requirement, since in E-Notebook 8 it was sufficient to have ChemDraw ULTRA installed to make this feature work. The XML configuration actually adds two new listeners named " Identify Salt and Solvate" to the "Reactants" and "Products" field in the ELN reaction section.
The Name=Struct IQ document also specifies that a .REG file has to be imported to make the Name=Struct feature work in E-Notebook. Without applying this .REG file to every client PC running the E-Notebook client, a 200 structures/day limitation applies.
Solution:To find out how to obtain the .REG license key import file, please check the article linked under references.
