Problem:

What is the mechanism for upgrading from one TSSS version to another?


Solution:

What are the steps for upgrading from one TIBCO Spotfire Statistics Services (TSSS) version to another?  Does TSSS have a dedicated upgrade mechanism for this task? TSSS does not have a version upgrade mechanism.  The way to upgrade from TSSS 7.11.0 to TSSS 10.10.0, for example, is to uninstall TSSS 7.11.0 and install TSSS 10.10.0.

Note:  TSSS 7.11.x and TSSS 10.10.x can both be installed on the same server at the same time, as long as each of them has its own connection URL (which includes the service name) and they do not listen on the same ports.

Note:  Each TSSS instance listens on two ports.

Note:  TSSS 10.10.x is supported for use with Spotfire 10.10.x.

?Note:  TSSS 10.10.0 ships with TIBCO Enterprise Runtime for R (TERR) 5.1.0 as its default statistical engine.
