Problem:

In Spotfire, MYSQL JDBC Data Source connection fails with error “CLIENT_PLUGIN_AUTH is required”.


Solution:

If Information Services data source to MYSQL database may fail to update with the error “CLIENT_PLUGIN_AUTH is required”, check that the version of MySQL JDBC driver is compatible with the MYSQL database version. In Spotfire, JDBC drivers are stored in <Spotfire Server Install>\tomcat\custom-ext folder.
