Problem:

TIBCO Data Visualization (Composite) template not available while setting up a new Data Source through Information Designer


Solution:

After enabling the "TIBCO Data Visualization template" from "Configuration tool==>Data Source Templates" and placing the csjdbc.jar file in <Installation Directory>\tibco\tss\10.3.x\tomcat\lib folder, "TIBCO Data Visualization"(Composite) option might not show up in the "Type" drop down, while creating a new data source through Information Designer. If this issue is seen, move the csjdbc.jar file from <Installation Directory>\tibco\tss\10.3.x\tomcat\lib to <Installation Directory>\tibco\tss\10.x.x\tomcat\custom-ext.

Note: In Spotfire 10 and higher, all the third party jar files that are not shipped out of the box with Spotfire must be placed in <Installation Directory>\tibco\tss\10.3.x\tomcat\custom-ext. During upgrade of Spotfire server, all the jar files under "custom-ext" folder in the current version will be copied over to the "custom-ext" in the upgraded version.
