Is JCIFS component still needed for NTLM authentication in TIBCO Spotfire server?

Starting with TIBCO Spotfire server 10.2.0 version, downloading third party JCIFS component is not needed for NTLM authentication.
  There is no longer a dependency on JCIFS and therefore it has been removed from the installer and all the traces of it in documentation.The internal Spotfire library files have been updated in such a way that it got rid of JCIFS dependency.

Note : All previous versions to 10.2 are still required to use JCIFS components when configuring NTLM authentication on Spotfire server , as per steps  mentioned here. Doc: NTLM authentication
