Spotfire Client: Black data points instead of normal markers in visualizations

When creating a visualization in Spotfire you may notice that the data points are displayed as black spots instead of the expected markers:

This issue can be caused by the graphics card or its software drivers.

One way to test this is to uncheck 'Tools> Options> Application>Hardware acceleration'

If this resolves the issue it may indicate that you have some problems with your graphics card or its software drivers. 

Try updating the drivers and see if you can enable hardware acceleration again as this greatly improves performance of Spotfire. 

To update your graphics card and its drivers, check with the vendor driver installation documentation.
