Problem:

Warning message seen in Web Player log: "UsePreferenceSiteUrl is enabled in web.config, but preference DxpLibraryWebURL is not set"

Solution:

Warning message seen in Web Player log:

Spotfire.Dxp.Web.Forms.ResourceSettings - UsePreferenceSiteUrl is enabled in web.config, but preference DxpLibraryWebURL is not set.

The above warning means that the Spotfire user preference for the Web Player URL is not set correctly.

Resolution

1). Start TIBCO Spotfire Professional Client and login using Spotfire Administrator credentials.
2). Go to Tools menu > Administration Manager > Preferences tab
3). Select a group (e.g., Everyone) to configure the setting for.
4). Click on the Edit button at the bottom right part of the dialog.
5). Expand Application and select Application Preferences > Edit
6). Set the WebPlayer URL for "DxpLibraryWebURL" then click OK and Close
7). The new preference value will be used the next time TIBCO Spotfire is started.
