Problem:

Spotfire Webplayer intermittent restarts.


Solution:

Resolution: Configure keepalive service properly and putting one file in schedule update so keepalive will not allow IIS to go down due to inactivity. Microsoft IIS by default close down an application pool if it has not been accessed in twenty minutes, with a System Event 5186. When first user then connects to the Spotfire Webplayer, Microsoft IIS starts the application pool. When using schedule update the application pool shutdown can be prevented by starting the KeepAlive service.
