Problem:
Does the Spotfire Web Player have a timeout option?
Solution:
The Web Player does not have a session timeout by default. However, a session timeout option can be set via the web.config file located in the webroot folder of your Spotfire Web Player installation (for example, C:\Program Files\Tibco\Spotfire Web Player\5.0.1\webroot\Web.config). Locate the ‘inactivityTimeout’ command line in the web.config file and set it equal to a number in the HH:MM:SS format. The number chosen will determine how long an analysis session remain open in hours, minutes, and seconds, when no user activity is detected on the Web Player server. The minimum value for the ‘inactivityTimeout’ command is 00:01:00, or one minute, and the maximum value is “Infinite”.
