"null password" connection error after installing Chemoffice WebServer
Problem:
This error is noted in "ChemOffice Ultra Enterprise" at log-in, even after filling the correct password: "Connection Error: ORA-01005: null password given; logon denied."
Solution:This generally is a problem of the Webserver configuration. The WebServer deliveres information on the HTTP requests but never accepts any information that was posted. So it always receives an empty username and password from the log-in page and gave this ORA-01005 error message (which is correct from the database's point of view).
The solution is to manually remove the COUE virtual folders "(like "ChemOffice" and especially "CS_SECURITY")" from the IIS Manager application and re-create them manually.
