E-Notebook startup performance can be affected by Symantec Endpoint Protection when using C Sharp add-ins

When ELN has been configured with several C# add-ins, these add-ins get compiled during the application startup by invoking csc.exe (C Sharp Compiler). Symantec Endpoint Protection has been observed to severely slow down overall application startup by excessively scanning activity from csc.exe. This issue is not ELN specific and can affect other software that uses csc.exe like Visual Studio. Disabling SEP's Auto-Protect feature and creating folder exceptions can help restore performance. Consult your IT Admin to change SEP settings or test a different security solution.
