Adobe PDF error when remote access to client machine
PROBLEM:
User reported an Adobe PDF error when Sign & Close or Export to PDF.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Adobe PDF
"When you create a PostScript file you have to send the host fonts. Please go to
the printer properties, "Adobe PDF Settings" page and turn OFF the option "Do
not send fonts to Distiller".
OK
-------------------------------------------------------------
Note 1: The setting was correctly set up but ENotebook still returns the error.
Platform where this error was seen: Acrobat 7.1.0, ENotebook 9.0.2.
POSSIBLE CAUSE:
This problem was caused by using remote access to the client computer -a
laptop- where ELN was open.
For some reason when remote control was established some printers where added
from the host machine and among them Adobe PDF (from "host machine").
It looks like this printer became a default one, so when user tried to sing off
an experiment it produced a "Distiller error".
It is not certain how the foreign printers got into the list. However, they
disappeared when disconnecting the remote access.
Sign & Close and Export to PDF also worked properly afterwards.
SOLUTION:
The problem can be solved by deleting the foreign printers.
