User is prompted for Windows administrator privilege when updating Signals VitroVivo client

Question

User is prompted for Windows administrator privilege when updating Spotfire client to use Signals VitroVivo. Why is the user being prompted for admin privilege? Can the user safely ignore this prompt for now and ran it later?

Answer

It is required to run the following file with Windows administrator privilege just once in order to use the Image Discovery feature in Signals VitroVivo. 

C:\Program Files (x86)\TIBCO\Spotfire\version\Modules\Image Discovery_version\OpenPort.bat

The user can safely skip the initial run and rerun the file manually from the above file path later. The decision to not run the file will only affect the behavior of Image Discovery.
