Signals Notebook: How to open embedded documents when printing an experiment to PDF

Signals Notebook allows you to print your experiments in PDF format. When your experiments contain attachments, these elements are placed as embedded documents inside the PDF. In this article, you will find a step-by-step guide on how to open these documents using Adobe Acrobat.

1. Download your experiment as PDF. Make sure to select the option "Embed documents as attachments" in the Print to PDF menu. 
   

2. Open the PDF with Adobe Acrobat.

3. In the side panel, click on the paperclip icon.
   

4. The attachments section will expand. Select the embedded document you wish to view.

   

Note(1): This process is not possible while viewing the document with web browsers.

Once this process is complete, you will have successfully opened the embedded documents within your PDF with the help of Adobe Acrobat.

Note(2): Adobe Acrobat does not allow you to open the embedded ZIP files.

Major PDF viewers, such as Adobe Acrobat, restrict the file types you can extract from PDFs. If a ZIP file is attached to the Experiment, please refer to the knowledge base below for a workaround.
