Bulk update Materials in a Material library in Signals

Prior to this task: 

✔ A Material must be enabled.

1️⃣ Signals Dashboard ➡ select  [Materials]
2️⃣ Materials ➡ select [down arrow] ➡ select material type
3️⃣ Material ➡ select [Actions] ➡ select Bulk Update
4️⃣ Bulk Update ➡ select [Choose File]
5️⃣ Open window ➡ select a file ➡ select [Open]
6️⃣Bulk Update ➡ select fields to update ➡ select [Update]

Supporting Knowledge

After selecting the Update button in step 6, the Bulk Update Report window is presented with the following options:

• The [Close] option closes the Bulk Update Report window.
• The [Download .csv of Failed Items] option downloads a .csv file to review the bulk update failure reason.
• The [Go to Report Page] option takes the user to the Material Bulk Results page. From this page, under the Bulk Update tab, the user can view the different bulk update of materials results.

Alternatively, the user can bulk update using the Reference such as Request ID, Task ID, Experiment name, Admin Defined Subject ID, among others, by performing the steps above. 

Alternatively, Internal Reference values can be added to the Internal Reference field of a material record through the reference links in the .csv/.sdf file as applicable. Go to the item in which is to be added in and copy the item link. Paste the link in the Reference Link column of the file, then follow the steps above. For a valid but non-unique ID or a valid and unique ID, the reference link of the item(s) can be used.

Only the fields that are selected will be updated. Updates that cause duplicates will be automatically skipped.

To empty field values of non-required fields, you need to check the following check box located on the top of the screen and also have those values empty for those fields in the file.
