Spotfire Analyst: Unable to connect with "The specified value is not valid in the 'SslProtocolType' enumeration" error

Some users experience connection failures to Spotfire servers after upgrading the Analyst Client to version 14.0.9. The following error can be seen in the Analyst log Spotfire.Dxp.SupportDiagnostics.log

ArgumentException at System:
The specified value is not valid in the 'SslProtocolType' enumeration.
Parameter name: sslProtocolType (HRESULT: 80070057)

This issue is likely caused by system settings related to .NET Framework.

To resolve the connection issue: 

• Start the registry editor
• Modify the following registry key to 1
   

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\.NETFramework\v4.0.30319\SystemDefaultTlsVersions

• Reboot the machine
