Description
Percepta can estimate skin permeability (logKp), which reflects how readily a compound passes through skin. These predictions are useful in dermal exposure assessment and topical formulation design.
Solution
- Load or draw the compound structure in Percepta.
- Select the Absolv prediction module and navigate to Other equations in V and locate logKp (Human skin permeation)
- Review the logKp result:
- More negative logKp values generally indicate lower permeability (slower skin penetration).
- Compare predicted logKp across a series of compounds to rank relative dermal absorption potential.
- For risk or formulation decisions:
- Use predictions as screening guidance only.
- Supplement with in vitro or in vivo dermal absorption data where available.
- Clearly document that predicted logKp is a model estimate, not a replacement for regulatory‑grade experimental data.
