Percepta: Quick comparison of analog series using radar (spider) plots

Visual comparison of several predicted properties across a small series of analogs can be done via radar (spider) plots. Even if plotted in an external tool, Percepta predictions provide the underlying values.

Solution

1. For a series of analogs, export Percepta predictions for a chosen property set, for example:
   • logP/logD.
   • Solubility.
   • Predicted clearance.
   • Polar surface area (if available).
   • Any key toxicity risk scores or counts.
2. Normalize or scale each property to a common range for plotting.
3. In a plotting tool (e.g., spreadsheet with radar chart capability):
   • Create a radar plot where each axis represents one property.
   • Plot each analog as a separate polygon on the same chart.
4. Use the radar plot to visually identify:
   • Analogs with more balanced profiles.
   • Outliers with extreme values for one or more properties.
5. Discuss the visual patterns with project teams to decide which analogs to prioritize.
6. Keep track of how radar plots evolve as more data (experimental or predicted) accumulate.
