Description
After uploading images, the audit/history log may show Edit Layout, Create Image, and Update Image events—sometimes multiple edits within seconds. This behavior differs from MS Office/PDF uploads.
Solution
These are expected audit events due to interface layout changes, creation of the image resource, and backend image processing with periodic autosave and squashing. The system may record edits every few seconds and later consolidate them (“squash”) into a single history entry, so multiple rapid edit events can appear temporarily.
The following are the expected logging events created during image upload:
• Edit Layout: Triggered by opening the Add Content/import interface, which changes the experiment layout.
• Create Image: Triggered when the image file is selected and added to the experiment, creating a new image resource.
• Update Image: Triggered by backend processing (e.g., generating thumbnails, metadata association, resizing) after upload.
This image-specific behavior may not apply to MS Office or PDF files, which do not undergo the same image processing workflow. No action is required; the audit trail is functioning as designed for compliance and traceability.
