Signals Notebook: How is the molecular formula for structures generated?

As an administrator, I'd like to know if the application uses a specific format when generating the molecular formula for a structure and if this can be configured.

Solution

Signals Notebook CDWS does not offer the option to configure the molecular formula generation format and consistently uses the Hill notation when calculating and representing the molecular formula:
1. Carbon first, then hydrogen, then all remaining elements in alphabetical order of their chemical symbols.
2. If no carbon is present, all elements are listed purely alphabetically.
3. Each element symbol appears only once, followed by a subscripted count if more than one atom is present.
