Signals Notebook: Unable to Share System Templates with User Groups

Description
System Templates (e.g., Experiment Template) can only be shared with System Groups. Sharing System Templates with User Groups is not supported — this is by design.

Reason
This is because System Admins can guarantee that they have and continue to have access to the group. (User Groups are not visible to System Admin users unless they are explicitly shared.)

Solution
If you need to share a System Template with a group that is currently a User Group, you can convert the User Group to a System Group.*

Steps to Convert a User Group to a System Group

1. Log in as a user who has Full Control of the User Group.
2. Open the User Groups smart folder.
3. Select the User Group you want to convert.
4. Click Sharing.
5. Add a System Admin user and grant them any permission level (Read or higher).
6. Log in as the System Admin user who was granted access in Step 5.
7. Navigate to Signals Configuration > System Groups.
8. Select Create Group > Convert User Group to System Group.
9. Select the User Group to convert and click "Convert to System Group."

*Once a User Group is converted to a System Group, it cannot be converted back.
