Change in August 2022 Update:
We updated the Samples table so that if a user attempts to change the Material in the Material Library and the Material already has more than 1 batch associated with it, we tell the user that they cannot make the change from the Samples table, but rather they need to make the change from the Material Library or delete the additional batches.
How to recognize: Users may report that they can no longer update the Material from a Samples Table.
What action to take: The user should update the Material in the Material Library or delete the additional batches.
Reason why we choose to change this: Users could inadvertently change a Material that has been used in many other experiments/places in SNB. This can lead to bad data and inaccuracy.
Additional Comments: If the sample setting
“the Chemical Samples will indicate if the Sample has changed relative to an entry in the Materials Library or an External Database and the Material or external database may need updating”
and/or the Object Workflow setting
“Require chemical samples to match entries in the Material Library or an External Database before signing”
are TRUE then the user may need to delete the Library link from the Sample and resubmit it in order to clear the warning and/or sign the object.
