Please find the detailed information on this below along with two approaches that can be used as workaround to overcome this issue:
- Currently the application is designed in a way that structures retrieved by typing the CAS number in the Quick Add text box gets retrieved from ChemACX.
- The source for this information in quick add is ChemACX only and therefore if the material information is not in ChemACX it cannot be found in quick add as well. Detailed information on this can also be seen in our user guide (Help Centre > Working with Information Items > Chemical Drawings > Creating a ChemDraw Reaction)
Workaround:
Approach 1: The reagent which is present in system but cannot be found in quick add can be added into the chemdraw element by browsing the material using search. Please find steps to do so below:
-
- Within chemdraw go to browse material (magnifying glass)
- Using Add filter, add CAS field and enter the required CAS number (e.g., 439685-73-1). This will retrieve the material with this CAS number.
- Hover the cursor on the material and using the arrow depiction add the material in the chemdraw reaction.
Approach 2: In case a material/chemical is not present in ChemACX and therefore cannot be found in quick add we can define them in inventory and later use it across experiments using quick add.
In ChemDraw you can define an inventory of molecules that may not exist in the quick add library. By adding your own customized list of molecules, you can then use them across experiments. Please find steps to do so below:
- Add the structure to chemdraw element and click on "Define New library"
- Add an intuitive name for your new chemical, and then click Create Chemical.
- Add a chemical drawing information item to your notebook /experiment.Click in the Quick Add text box and enter the name you created for your structure.
