Overview
Reagents registered in the Material Library with a text label enclosed in brackets in the Chemical Structure field (e.g., [Test Reagent A]) may initially display in both Stoichiometry Grid and Reaction schema.
However, it disappears from the grid when the reaction is subsequently modified.
Why this happens - Expected Behavior
This behavior is due to limitation in the reaction perception engine:
- No Structure Parsing: Text-only entries are treated as annotations, not parsed as chemical structures
Correct Registration
To ensure stability, the recommended practice is to register no-structure reagents in the Material Library by leaving the Chemical Structure field blank.
Note: When a no-structure reagent is added to an experiment in Chemical Drawing element, the system may display a message indicating "No Chemical Structure was available for this ID". This is expected behavior, not an error.
