ChemDraw ChemFinder: The sample script under "CAL Commands DDE Syntax" in the ChemFinder Help does not seem to work properly

The sample script under "CAL Commands DDE Syntax" in the ChemFinder Help does not seem to work properly. Specifically, the DOS ERASE C:\DATA.TMP line does not appear to work.

Change the script to: IF EXIST DATA.TMP DEL DATA.TMP 
WRITETEXT C:\DATA.TMP 
EXEC "c:\program files\microsoft office\office\excel.exe" 
DDE Excel System [OPEN("C:\DATA.TMP")] 
DDE Excel System [COLUMN.WIDTH(1,"C1:C4",,3,1)]
