Spotfire: Error 'Invalid record length found' when opening shapefile from QGIS in TIBCO Spotfire

When opening shapefiles from QGIS in Spotfire, you may get the error message "Invalid record length found". This is because for some export configurations in QGIS, the resulting shapefile doesn't meet the expected ESRI standards.

Resolution:

With some export configurations, the resulting shapefile doesn't meet the expected ESRI standards. To resolve the issue, when exporting a PolygonZ file from QGIS, choose the geometry type Polygon (instead of automatic) and uncheck the "include z-dimension" option in the Geometry section.
