Description
- Exporting certain experiments from Katalyst produces:
- Very large files (hundreds of MB or more).
- Slow downloads or timeouts in the browser or downstream systems.
- These exports may include many plates, time points, and analytical runs in one package.
Solution
- Evaluate what must be included in the export:
- Do you need all analytical runs and intermediate data, or only final/representative results?
- Can some portions be archived or exported separately?
- Options to control export size:
- Split experiments into multiple smaller experiments or batches before export.
- Use export filters (where available) to select only necessary wells, plates, or analyses.
- If exporting to an external system, see if it supports incremental or partial imports.
- Infrastructure considerations:
- Ensure sufficient network bandwidth and timeout settings for large transfers.
- For extremely large exports, perform the operation from a server‑side script or tool that is less constrained than a browser session.
- For recurring large exports:
- Work with Technical Support team to review export format, compression, and possible optimizations.
