Description
- Users expect a sequence file associated with a Katalyst experiment for their instrument (e.g., LC/MS).
- The sequence file cannot be found:
- It was never generated, or
- It was deleted or moved.
- Subsequent analytical data may have been acquired without using the KAT ID–aware sequence.
Solution
- Assess the impact:
- If no analytical data has been collected yet:
- Generate a new sequence file from Katalyst for that experiment and load it into the instrument software before acquiring data.
- If data has already been collected without the Katalyst sequence:
- Data files may not contain expected KAT IDs or naming patterns, so automatic attachment may fail.
- If no analytical data has been collected yet:
- Recovery when data exists without the original sequence:
- Generate a new sequence file for the experiment in Katalyst.
- Compare the new sequence with the actual acquired data:
- Align samples/wells manually (e.g., by acquisition order) to know which raw file belongs to which well.
- Rename the raw data files to match the filenames expected in the new sequence (including KAT IDs).
- Move renamed files into the scan folder so Katalyst can attach and process them.
- For future experiments:
- Always generate and use sequence files from Katalyst before data acquisition to avoid manual remapping steps.
