When performing a bulk import of materials that contain a CAS number, some of these materials may fail during the import process due to the error “Value '...' cannot be parsed to a valid value for 'CAS_NUMBER' type field 'CAS'.”. How should this error be interpreted?

Answer: When entering CAS numbers, Signals validates them to verify that the numbers entered are valid. If the error “Value '...' cannot be parsed to a valid value for 'CAS_NUMBER' type field 'CAS'.” appears, the CAS numbers entered may not be valid, which is the cause of the error. 

To resolve this error, we recommend validating the CAS numbers in databases such as PubChem (https://pubchem.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/) and making the necessary changes to the file you are importing to ensure the import process completes successfully.
