Spectrus DB: Cannot add spectra due to corrupted database (specdb_scripts.dll error)

Description

Users encountered errors adding spectra to Spectrus DB, including references to specdb_scripts.dll. The root cause was a corrupted database (.cfd/.cf_spec). Standard repair and clean reinstall did not resolve the issue. Merging the corrupted database into a new database restored functionality.

Solution

To merge the corrupt database into a new one:

1. Open Spectrus DB and load the problematic database.
2. Go to Database menu> Tools >Merge To.
3. When prompted to select a target database, choose No to create a new database.
4. Create and name the new database, then confirm when asked to proceed with merging.
5. Review merge options (default options are typically sufficient) and click OK.
6. Wait for the merge to complete, then select OK to finish.
7. Open the newly created database and test adding spectra/entries.
   If merging does not resolve the issue, provide the .cfd and associated .cf_spec files to Support for analysis.
