ChemSketch: Number of decimal places displayed in a formula weight

Description

When calculating chemical properties such as Formula Weight (FW) for a structure in ChemSketch, the default settings control how many decimal places are displayed. Depending on reporting requirements or analytical workflows, you may need to increase or decrease the displayed precision

Solution

To change the number of decimal places displayed for Formula Weight in ChemSketch:

  1. Open ChemSketch in Structure mode.
  2. Select Options > Preferences...
  3. In the Preferences dialog, open the Structure tab.
  4. Locate the FW decimal places field.
  5. Enter or select the desired number of decimal places (for example, 2, 4, or 6).
  6. Click OK to save the setting.
  7. Recalculate the Formula Weight:
    • Select Tools > Calculate > Formula Weight

The calculated Formula Weight will be displayed using the specified number of decimal places.
