Description
When uploading an image file via the POST /entities/{eid}/children/{filename} API endpoint, the following applies: if the image type (such as .png, .jpg, .jpeg, .bmp, .gif, .tiff, .tif) exceeds 5MB, it will be resized to less than 5MB by reducing the height/width via this API.
For more details, refer to the Swagger documentation in Signals Notebook > Signals Configuration > System Settings.
Solution
Automatic resizing is triggered only for image files larger than 5MB. ZIP files are treated as general files during this POST upload workflow and are not subject to image resizing logic.
To preserve the original image, compress the image into a ZIP file first, then upload the ZIP file to Signals Notebook through this API. The original image inside the ZIP will remain unchanged.
Note : This method is a workaround to avoid automatic image resizing. Directly uploaded images can be shown inline in Signals Notebook. whereas ZIP uploads require users to download and unzip the file before viewing the image.
