Learn about the differences between Lists and Snippets in the Signals Configuration

Lists are collections of values that allow a placeholder with a list name and a defined set of values that can be chosen by the user. For instance, the administrator can create a Color list and define the values of red, yellow, and blue.

Snippets are predefined strings or phrases of text that can be inserted into text areas. Snippets can also contain placeholders that can be updated by users after being inserted. Snippets allow the end user to choose from a predefined list of terms.

Predefined autotext shortcuts:

• # For adding reagents.
• $ For inserting text templates.
• ! For inserting a List.
• ESC for inserting reserved characters as normal text.
