Prior to this task:
✔ A Curve Fit Definition must be created.

Supporting Knowledge
Note: At least one parameter must be configured before the Definition can be enabled. Providing appropriate starting values and constraints is essential for custom models for the fitting algorithm to converge reliably. If a custom model does not fit successfully, review the start values and parameter boundaries first.
† Fields options for each parameter
| Field | Description |
| Name (required) | Alphanumeric only; must start with a letter. |
| Label | Description of the parameter (max 50 characters). |
| Start Type | Initial numeric value for fitting; default is Value; other options: Min X, Min Y, Max X, Max Y, Mid X, Mid Y. |
| Fix | When checked, parameter value is held constant during fitting and not optimized. |
| Lower Limit | Minimum allowable value for the parameter during fitting. |
| Upper Limit | Maximum allowable value for the parameter during fitting. |
‡ Supported syntax for the expression
| Syntax Type | Supported Options |
| Arithmetic operators | +, -, *, /, ^ (power) |
| Grouping | ( ) |
| Built-in functions | abs, acos, asin, atan, ceil, cos, exp, floor, log, log10, log1p, log2, pow, round, sin, sqrt, tan, clamp |
| Parameter references | Use parameter names exactly as defined (e.g., A * X + B) |
Other available options
- To lock a parameter, under Parameters, select the
[Lock parameter] icon to fix its current values. Locked parameters are read-only in all views—definition, template configuration, and In Vitro Analysis execution—and are indicated by a lock icon.
- To remove a parameter, under Parameters, select the
[Delete parameter] icon. From the Confirm Delete window, select
[Delete].
- To upload a visual preview of the curve shape, from the Curve Fit Definition details view, select
[Actions], then select Upload Preview, and select a PNG, JPG, JPEG, or SVG file. The definition must be in Draft status to upload, replace, or delete a preview image.
