Considerations to keep in mind for all tables:
- Default fields cannot be deleted. However, default units for the tables can be defined.
- Internal Reference allows administrators to:
- Choose to keep queries open to anything available to the user.
Define search queries for all users to use, focusing on a particular entity such as experiments, notebooks, materials, or samples to link as an internal reference.
Note: With a defined query, the user will not be able to remove the query options but can filter as needed.
The following field type options are available:
- Text: add a free text field.
- Date/Time: add a date/time field.
- Autotext List: select a list from the available autotext lists that are created in the system settings. Please note that it is mandatory to have a list of values defined in the system settings the autotext list type has been selected.
- Number: add a number field.
- Number with unit: add a number with units field.
- External hyperlink: add an external hyperlink field. Please note that in addition to HTTP and HTTPS, the hyperlink attribute field supports ftp, ftps, and sftp in the link field section.
- Checkbox: add a checkbox field.
- List: add a list field that accesses values stored within the table definition.
- Integer: add an integer field.
- Multi Select List: add a multi-select list field.
- Attribute List: add an attribute list field that accesses lists set up by the admin as part of Attributes.
- Internal Reference: find and select internal references. Signals users can add references that appear along with an information icon to display the corresponding reference details when hovering the mouse over the reference.
- HTML: add an HTML field that supports the chemical formulas.
- Amount Ratio: define at the user end that a non-limiting reagent is added in a weight-based or volume-based ratio relative to the limiting reagent.
- Variable Property: only available for a Reactants table. Currently the Variable property includes the Variable Parameter, Radioactivity.
Checkboxes available when adding columns:
- The admin can make a field read-only by selecting the Read Only checkbox. Once checked, the corresponding field's cell appears in gray and cannot be edited by the end users.
- The admin can hide any field type by selecting the Hidden by Default checkbox. When Hidden by Default is enabled, the column is hidden by default in the stoichiometry table. The end user can unhide the column if required.
- The admin can choose to clear any field's value when the Chemical Drawing information item is copy-pasted or the parent experiment is copied or converted from an experiment to a template or vice versa by enabling the "Clear value when element is copy-pasted" option.
- Select the Always Shown checkbox to make the column always visible in the table. When the Always Shown checkbox is enabled, the column cannot be hidden from the end user because the Hide column option is not available.
- To ensure that the user gets a notification whenever a parent reactant/product of a particular sample has been edited, select the Update Sample checkbox. Otherwise, the user will not get any notification.
