Signals Notebook: Add a new Annotation Layer to a Plates template from the Signals Configuration

For Administrators only.

Prior to this task:

✔ A Plates template must be created.

1️⃣ Signals Configuration ➡ select [System Objects]
2️⃣ System Objects ➡ select Plates
3️⃣ Plates Settings pane ➡ select Templates
4️⃣ Plates Templates ➡ select template
5️⃣ Annotation Layers area ➡ select [Add Annotation Layer]
6️⃣ Create Annotation Layer area ➡ type/select Name* Annotation Class*
7️⃣ Create Annotation Layer area ➡ select [Add Annotation Layer]

Supporting Knowledge

Annotation Class types

• Amount – Number with volume units
• Concentration – Number with concentration units
• Deviation – Text
• Other – Allows selection of text, real number, and integer
• Material – Allows integration with Material libraries
• Replicate – Integer
• Well Format – Text layer to enter Well Format

Note: When selecting "Other" as the Annotation Class, Data Type is added as a required field to the configuration.
