You are a student and have been told you have access to ChemDraw through your College/University. How do you get access? What do you need to do?
Below we will go over the most common issues faced by students.
IMPORTANT REMINDER: Revvity does not offer 24/7 support. You should try to get the software as soon as possible (as soon as you are told how by your institution). If you wait and run into a problem over the weekend, Support will not be available to assist you until Monday.
How do I get access to the software?
The first thing you need to know is which software you need. We will start with the process for getting ChemDraw Prime or ChemDraw Pro. There is a different process for Signals ChemDraw which will be explained later.
For ChemDraw Prime or ChemDraw Pro:
For users that have access to a site subscription license (most common use case), the first step for gaining access to ChemDraw is to register in the site subscription gallery here - Revvity Signals Site Subscription Gallery.
- Once on the site, find your College/University using the search.
- After finding your College/University, click on the Register button and fill-in the information requested and Submit.
- If you do not find your College/University, verify that you have access to ChemDraw and not Signals ChemDraw. After you have verified that it is ChemDraw and cannot find your College/University, contact Revvity Support.
- You will be sent an email to verify the email address that you entered on the registration form. If you do not receive the email, check your Junk folder to make sure it was not filtered out of your Inbox. Contact Revvity Support if you still do not find it.
- Once registered and verified, you will receive a second email to set your password, Click the link and follow the instructions to create a new password. This step must be completed in order to get access to the Download Center.
- You should now have access to the Download center and should see the Entitlements that a user at your College/University can access.
How do you determine which Download you need?
Once you have signed in to the Download Center, you will be taken to the “List Entitlements" page. Unless you have been told otherwise, you are typically looking for an Entitlement that mentions Site Subscription. In the Entitlement list find the one that says Site Subscription and the most recent order. If there are more than one, use the one with the largest Order Number. Click Download now. At the top of the screen will be an Activation Code – make a note of it as you will need it during the installation. To download the most recent version, click the “New Versions” tab, and select the Download Package link. If you need to download an older version, click the “Prior Versions” tab, and select the required version. When the “Downloads” page is displayed, scroll down the page and select the correct download option for your type of Operating System (Windows or Mac). To start the download, select the link in the “File Name” column. After the download has completed, you will be ready to install the software. Do not try to install ChemDraw before the download is 100% completed. In the event you have two installers, ChemDraw must be installed first, then ChemDraw Applications can be installed. For full installation instructions you can look at the Quick Start Guide. If you have any problems with the installation, contact Revvity Support.
How do I get access to Signals ChemDraw or Signals Notebook?
There is no need to use the Download Center if you are using Signals ChemDraw or Signals Notebook. For access to Signals ChemDraw or Signals Notebook, you will FIRST need to be added to the tenant by your school's local Administrator (otherwise, you will get an Access Denied error if you attempt to open the tenant URL). Then you should be provided with either a link to the Signals tenant by your school’s local Administrator or you will be directed to contact the College/University Administrator for access to the tenant. Revvity Signals has no control over access to your tenant. This is handled internally by the Administrator of your College/University tenant.
