In Signals update 25.3, the feature "Move Locations to other locations—including grid locations" was added. In this article, you will find a step-by-step guide on how to activate this feature in your locations.
Enable the privilege to move locations: The new Move Location privilege is for moving locations within/to other locations and can be assigned to users; ex: user takes a box with containers from the freezer to the bench. For system administrators, this option is enabled by default. However, if you want to assign this privilege to a different user role, you must perform the following actions.
Access to the Signals configuration menu.
Click on the option "User Roles".
Click on the tab "Inventory".

Click on the tab "Locations".

Check the box associated with the “Move location” permission for those user roles that you want to grant this privilege to.

For a location to be considered movable, the Location Type will need to be updated by an administrator to have the Movable (System) property: This property must be added manually by a system administrator, which will enable the locations to be moved. You can either add this property to existing location types or add it to new location types. Below you will find instructions on how to add this property.
Access to the Signals configuration menu.
Click on the option "Inventory".
In the left side menu, select the “Locations” option and then click on “Types”.

Click on the type of location you want to be movable or create a new type of location.
Click on "Add property...".

Add the “Movable” property.
If this configuration was done correctly, it should be visible in the location properties. As an example, you can see the following screenshot. Note: In this example, you may notice that the property is grayed out. This is because I am updating a location type that is in use within my tenant. If you are using a location type that is not in use, you can mark it as “required".

Click on "Update"
Update your existing locations: If you modify a location type that you currently have in use, you must update the locations created with this location type. To perform this task, you should follow the steps below:
Go to "Inventory".
Search for a location that was created using the location type you modified or created in step 2.
Access to this location, click on the “Actions” button and then click on “Edit.”

In the "Edit location" configuration, check the checkbox "Movable".

Click on "Update location".
Once you have made this configuration, the “Move location” button will appear within the location you have modified.

This way, you can properly configure the function "Move Locations to other locations".
