Chem3D: Unable to Integrate current update of MOPAC 2016 client with Chem3D

The current update of the MOPAC 2016 client is now open access, so you don't need a license. However, Chem3D 21.0.0.28 and below recognize MOPAC Client installation only if the 'password for MOPAC2016' file is present in the following location.

C:\Program Files\MOPAC\

Please try the following workaround:

1. Downloaded the latest "stand-alone 64-bit MOPAC2016 for Windows" from http://openmopac.net/Download_MOPAC_Executable_Step2.html.
2. Extract the content from the "MOPAC2016_standalone_for_WINDOWS_64_bit.zip" file. It contains the following files:
   a. Example_data_set.mop
   b. Installation instructions.txt
   c. libiomp5md.dll
   d. MOPAC2016.exe
3. Create a folder called "MOPAC" under "C:\Program Files" (i.e. create "C:\Program Files\MOPAC").
4. Then provide "Full Control" to that folder for the user account. You will find the steps in the "Installation instructions.txt".  The user must be an admin with read/write access.
5. Then copy/paste the following two files in that folder:
   a. libiomp5md.dll
   b. MOPAC2016.exe
6. Then create a text file in that folder, by right-clicking and selecting from the context menu: "New" and then select "Text Document".
7. It will create a file with the name "New Text Document.txt".
   
   [If you are not able to view the .txt extension then you need to change File Explorer settings.
   a. Open File Explorer; if you do not have an icon for this in the taskbar; click Start, click Windows System, and then File Explorer.
   b. Click the View tab in File Explorer.
   c. Click the box next to File name extensions to see file extensions.
   d. Click the box next to Hidden items to see hidden files.]
   
   
8. Rename the "New Text Document.txt" as "password for MOPAC2016" - without any extension.

Now you are able to access MOPAC 2016 client through Chem3D.
