Description: Sometimes you can treat this error message after long term launching your software: "Unable to establish connection with ChemSketch. If the programs have been properly installed, try to increase "Program Launch Timeout" value in ACD/Host Options"
Solution:
The error message you are seeing appears because the program took more than a specified amount of time to launch. To solve this issue, you can increase the Program Launch Timeout to 300 s. Please see the attached instructions to do this below.
- Using File Explorer, navigate to C:\Program Files\ACDXXXX and double-click acdhost.exe and an ACD/Labs icon will appear in the Windows status bar.
2. In the hidden icon’s menu, right-click on the ACD/Host icon and select Options.
3. Change the Program Launch Timeout (sec) to 300 and tick the "Load with Windows" checkbox.
4. Click the Remove Obsolete Paths from Menu... button. In that window, if you see any lines with older ACDHOST, select it and click OK to be removed. If the window is empty, just click OK to close it.
5. Click OK to accept and close the Options window.
6. Restart the computer and re-launch the software.
