Description
If the user is experiencing issues with connecting to the Remote database, there are steps that can be taken by internal database administrator (DB admin) to resolve the problem before reaching out to Support. The following instructions are intended for the DB admin working on the SDBES (Spectrus DB Enterprise Server).
Solution
- Navigate to Spectrus DB Server folder > SERVICES.SRV > SMC.EXE.
- Ensure that Spectrus DB Enterprise Server status is Started.
- Run ESMC as administrator, right-click server name and log in as administrator account.
- Right-click database server and select Properties and make sure the Connection String and Port number are correct. Click Test. You should receive a pop-up message: Success.
- Check if there are any conflicts with different versions by noting which versions are installed and what programs are running in Task Manager.
- Open ODBC Data Sources (64-bit) and navigate to Drivers tab. Confirm you see the Oracle or PostgreSQL drivers in the list.
- Check the SDBES installation log files for errors. Located at:
